Pricing

How much should a small business website cost in 2026?

7 July 2026 · LMJ Web Design

Ask five agencies for a quote and you will get five numbers that have nothing to do with each other. That is not because four of them are lying. It is because "a website" can mean anything from five pages of text to a booking system with payments.

What drives the price

  • Design from scratch versus a theme. A themed site is quicker to produce and looks like it. A custom design costs more up front and reads as yours.
  • Functionality. A contact form is trivial. Online booking, member logins and payments are software, and software costs software money.
  • Content. Who writes the words and takes the photos? If the answer is "the agency", that is in the price. If the answer is "you", the project usually stalls here.
  • Running it. Hosting, updates, backups, security and support are either in the price, an extra line, or quietly nobody's job.

How to compare quotes

Ask each one the same four questions: what happens after launch, who owns the domain, what does a change cost, and what happens if I leave. The answers tell you more than the number.

What we do

One monthly plan for a managed website, with design, hosting, email, updates and support included and no start-up cost. Anything that is software rather than website, we quote as a project with a written scope. See the pricing page.
