The contact form is where websites quietly fail

6 January 2026 · LMJ Web Design

The most expensive website fault is the one nobody notices. A contact form that stops delivering looks exactly like a contact form that works, right up until you wonder why it has been quiet.

How forms break

An email provider changes its rules, a plugin updates, a spam filter gets stricter, the sending address loses authentication. None of these show an error on the page.

What we do

  • Every form is tested end to end at launch, on a phone.
  • Submissions are stored as well as emailed, so nothing is lost if an email bounces.
  • A test submission runs automatically every day and we are alerted if it does not arrive.
  • Sending addresses are properly authenticated (see the email post).

If you are not on a managed plan, send yourself a test through your own form today. It takes a minute and it is worth knowing.
